Hello! Welcome to Just A Girl, the unofficial but still TheFanlsitings.Org-approved fanlisting for the character Dana Cruz from the Emmy-nominated and hit TeenNick show Zoey 101, which aired for three years from 2005 to 2008. Dana Cruz was one of the first female students to come to the formerly males-only boarding school, Pacific Coast Academy, along with other fellow females like Zoey Brooks, Nicole Bristow and Quinn Pensky. However, she only stayed there for the first semester before Dana was accepted to an elite, prestigious boarding school in Paris and chose to go there; for the remainder of the time that Zoey 101 was on television, Dana Cruz was never seen again, and her character was never named or referenced past the point of the first episode of the second season where Nicole tells Chase where Dana has gone upon his asking. However, some scenes containing Dana from the first season of the show can be seen in the final episode of the series, initially airing after the final made-for-TV movie Chasing Zoey, PCA Confidential, where prospective students to PCA are given a chance to ask Zoey, Chase and Stacey Dillsen questions about life at Pacific Coast Academy. Even though Dana's character was only on Zoey 101 for one season, she managed to gain infamous notoriety by many of the fans that watched the show for its initial run on Nickelodeon; she is currently one of the all-time favorite female characters of the show, and there were many fans who were displeased when they found out that she had been written out of subsequent seasons for whatever reason her actress Kristin Herrera chose to leave the show. Some fans have even expressed a dislike for the character Lola Camacho/Martinez (references to her last name, between the official website and the show, are inconsistent), who was brought in because of the absence of Dana Cruz and later became the girls' roommate until the end of the series. Also noteworthy is the fact that Dana Cruz and Logan Reese were paired together in the episode "The Dance" when the computer generated each person's dance partner by the results that they had given to a personality survey, although nothing else came to pass between them hinting toward any further of a relationship with the loss of the character Dana from seasons two onward. The name of this fanlisting, "Just A Girl", comes from the song "Just A Girl" by the smash hit band The Click Five, which I thought summed Dana's character up as well as any song can; sometimes brash, opinionated, not afraid in the slightest bit to speak her mind whenever she feels that it is the time to do so, always true to herself and not afraid to be different.
